In the US, you can find Tater Tots in a lot of buffets – they are very popular. Doesn’t matter if it’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are great along with your scrambled eggs and bacon in the morning, or as a side with a meatloaf and gravy in the evening. Or as a snack whenever you are in the mood ;P
Cooking is fun, but not everybody wants to spend a lot of time in the kitchen to prepare dinner, for example. Whenever I am not really in the mood for a long cooking session, I prepare a simple stew ;) You chop some veggies, throw everything into a large pot and leave it to simmer for a while. Easy to do and not really complicated. This Potato Stew with Carrots & Bell Peppers is the perfect candidate for a weeknight dinner. Simple, delicious and done in about 30 minutes ;)

A hot soup is often a »life saver« during the cold season. It won’t thaw frozen feet, but it warms you up nicely from the inside, right? ;P This White Beans, Potato & Chorizo Soup can also be prepared on warmer days… actually all year round if you fancy potatoes, bean and spicy Spanish sausage. This soup tastes great all 365 days of the year ;)

I love all kinds of curry – they are all so tasty! Only fresh ingredients, easy to make, and often a bit (or a lot) spicy. What’s not to love?! OK… too hot, and it can be a bit overwhelming, but this Kohlrabi Potato Curry is definitely not super spicy. It’s mild and delicious… and vegan as well. A great weeknight dinner in my opinion!

Spain has been the most popular holiday destination for Germans in the last decade I think (if you exclude Germany itself from the list). The preference for Spain as a vacation destination is probably not only due to the beautiful weather they got down there. The delicious food in Spain will certainly also play a role here. I am not a beach vacationer. I prefer to stroll through a city and eat my way through all the regional specialties. One of my favorite Spanish dishes is definitely Huevos Rotos aka. Broken Eggs. The perfect dish for a hot Spanish night out ;P

In times, I am not sure what to cook, a delicious stew is often the first (and most often best) choice. A few ingredients are thrown into a large pot, you let them cook/brown a bit to get some nice flavors, and then you add broth or something similar. A short time later you got yourself a delicious meal ready to be served. This simple Sausage, Potato & White Jumbo Bean Stew also follows this principle. Everything is done in one pot and super easy to do. You can enjoy the stew on a cold day as well as on warm days – always great! ;)

Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer. I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;) Read more...
