These Christmas cookies today are something my grandma would have never made. Not because she did not like Vegan Hazelnut Christmas Cookies – she did not know what vegan means. Back Back then, when she was still with us, she did not know anybody living on a vegan diet (yes – that was quite a while ago). Neither did I ;) Well… things change and many things that were not vegan back then are vegan now. Including Christmas cookies like these here. Not a big deal anymore. Baking does not always require products from animals…

I got some oatmeal cookies again. It’s been some time since I published a cookie recipe with oats. I already have several recipes with oats, but another good one on top can’t hurt, right? :P Today the oats are combined with hazelnuts and chocolate. A really delicious combination I think!

This week is dedicated to chocolate. Decided that on Sunday ;) As soon as it gets warmer outside, chocolate is not always the best idea if you want a sweet snack since it is melting pretty fast in warm temperatures. Unfortunately, the melting process is not always happening in one’s mouth ;)

Is there anything you can do to prevent this from happening?! Well… it’s pretty easy actually: use the chocolate for baking! As you can see with this Chocolate Cranberry Hazelnut Bundt Cake – that trick works well.

It’s Friday again! Yay! It seems like the last weekend was just a couple of days ago… maybe because of the additional days off for Easter :P Well. I am definitely not gonna complain about that! I like it when the week has less working days. So let’s grab a cookie and celebrate the upcoming weekend with these Chocolate Nutella Hazelnut Cookies and a big cup of coffee. Or tee. Or plain milk. ;)

I don’t know if I told you about this already here – some might know I am living in Berlin… but I am originally from the South of Germany, Lake Constance, close to the border to Switzerland actually. While I was studying I was even living in Switzerland for some time, cause it was cheaper there than on the other side of the border in Germany ;)

Anyway – I am feeling really close to Switzerland and all the good chocolate and other stuff they have down there. Especially one thing called “Nussstängeli” ;)
