When we order Crispy Pork Belly and other small dishes as appetizers at the Asian dumpling restaurant around the corner, the pork belly is always the first dish that’s gone… It’s slightly spicy, crispy, and really delicious. Impossible to resist. Really… ;P

They are absolute classics here in Germany – Braised Cucumbers with Meatballs were always a favorite of our grandma. Nowadays, they may not be quite as hip and trendy as other dishes, but we really like braised cucumbers in a creamy sauce with some meatballs on the side. Childhood memories. And yes, me, the person writing this article here, is a little older. ;P

In the evening, we usually don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen preparing dinner. Wraps are always a good option when nobody is in the mood for an extensive cooking session. They are easy to prepare in advance and can be assembled quickly. Today, we made some delicious Chipotle Chicken Wraps with Guacamole. Rice, veggies, guacamole, and spicy chicken wrapped in extra large wheat tortillas – sounds pretty good, right?
If you want to whip up dinner quickly after work, gnocchi, potato noodles, and other types of pasta are super convenient. Most of them can be bought pre-cooked in supermarkets these days – this means you only have to heat everything up quickly, add a quick sauce, and your dinner is ready almost instantly. These Quick Gnocchi & Meatballs in Tomato Sauce are on the table in about 20 minutes. Even a local delivery service would have a hard time keeping up with that… at least during rush hour, when everyone is ordering at the same time. ;P

I guess we are not alone here – after a long day of working, nobody here wants to spend a long time in the kitchen for dinner. That’s why we love simple and quick recipes in the evening. Simple pasta dishes, like this One-Pot Orzo with Minced Meat, Zucchini & Bell Peppers are great for weeknight dinners. Loads of flavor, little effort and delicious! All we ever wanted! Nothing more, nothing less. ;P

We are not cooking too many soups at home, but when we do, it’s often something like this simple Coconut Curry Dumpling Soup. Quick and easy to prepare and really tasty with all the add-ins! Nobody likes a thin and boring soup with nothing in it. Right?! ;P
