It’s been a while… finally I got some nice layer cake again for you! A nice little Funfetti Pastel Layer Cake which is easy to make and since I am reducing sugar lately… with less sugar than I would normally bake. Not only good for my health but for everyone ;)

It is time to celebrate two years of “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte. Yay! A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
Don’t worry – I will not write down the opening sequence of a Star Wars movie… even though I could ;) Today it is all about cake, not the empire or rebels, stormtrooper or androids. I could use this cake as a weapon I guess, but I definitely prefer to eat the cake – nothin’ else. So, who wants a piece of this Galaxy Cake with Mirror Glaze?
I’ve got another batch of cupcakes for you today. I haven’t made any for quite some time, now this is the second recipe within two weeks (the last ones were chocolate hi-hat cupcakes). Today I got some delicious vanilla cupcakes with a raspberry filling and a Swiss meringue buttercream topping. So good!
Today I am going to prove to you, that even with no actual talent in decorating cakes, you can still create something…. well, something nice I’d say. ;P As long as you use a lot of buttercream. Loads of buttercream to be honest. ;) Take a look at exhibit A: this Blueberry Lemon Cake with Buttercream Flowers on top. Does not look that shabby, right?! The cake underneath the flowers is also delightful. Just sayin’!
It is time to have a little party! Yay! Bake to the roots is now 3 years old and I think we need to celebrate that! My little baby is getting older :P So what do you need for a good celebration? Exactly! CAKE! :D
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
