They look like normal chocolate chip cookies, but appearances can be deceiving. Anyone who does not like bananas should keep their distance. What can I say – there are many recipes for delicious banana bread out there… and then there are »recipes for absolutely perfect and ultra-extremely delicious« banana breads. This Banana Bread with Caramelized Bananas definitely belongs in the latter category. If you’ve never tried caramelizing bananas before using them in a banana bread recipe, you’ve truly been missing out! We’ll probably never bake any other banana bread again after this one…
Now and then, a few bananas turn a little darker in our kitchen. Darker than even die-hard banana lovers might like. Those dark or even black bananas might not be good for snacking anymore, but they are definitely great for baking! Cakes and other sweet pastries are often not considered to be super healthy. A lot of sugar and fat is quite normal in a lot of baked goods. But there is another way. This slightly healthier Zucchini Banana Bread, for example. It is made without added sugar and still tastes as delicious and sweet as other types of banana bread. It works. You just have to know what to do… ;P
There are about one trillion banana bread recipes out there. I assume, during the pandemic, many more have been added to that list. Back then, everyone used overripe bananas for baking banana bread ;P Today, I’m sharing another new recipe that can be added to the never-ending list – a delicious Banana Bread with Chocolate & Walnuts. Of course, I’m not reinventing the »banana bread wheel«, but we like this version a lot and thought it should be shared with everyone ;)
