I love baking Gugelhupf aka. bunst cakes. They are not particularly exciting compared to other highly decorated cakes, to be honest, but for me, they are perfect. So easy to make, and I just love the shape. »Less is more« is something that applies here for sure ;) This Nut & Biscoff Gugelhupf may look a bit simple (and for some probably boring) – I can understand that – but the flavors are sooo god! Absolutely delicious!
Some people think that bundt cakes are boring, I have the feeling. I can not agree with that, of course. If I had the same opinion there would not be that many bundt cake recipes here on the blog ;P I love bundt cakes aka. Gugelhupf. They are usually quite easy to prepare and easy to decorate. A nice glaze and something sprinkled on top is all you have to do to get a good-looking cake ;) Or do you want to say something different about this Simple & Easy Vanilla Bundt Cake with Raspberries? If you got something to say, take a step forward… I have a big wooden spoon ready. Just saying ;P
A marble cake is always a little trip back in time for me – back to my childhood when these cakes were made more often than they are today. I guess they were quite »trendy« back in the 80s ;P These days I rarely bake a cake like this simple Marble Bundt Cake anymore. It’s a pity, to be honest. I think these cakes look really nice and are normally pretty easy to prepare… well, and delicious. Maybe we should »make marble cakes great again« ;P I am pretty sure there are quite a few supporters out there for a campaign like that.
Cakes with apples are great all year round. They are always “in season”, right? No matter if it’s summer or the deepest winter – I could eat them all the time! The reason for that is not only that apple cakes are always delicious. You can get apples all year round – I think that is an important factor that they are so popular everywhere 24/7 and 365 days a year ;P That’s also why I bake quite often with apples. No matter if it’s a simple Crumb Cake with Apples or a delicious Spiced Apple Bundt Cake like this one here. Serving apple cakes & pies is always a good option ;)
During the pandemic banana bread had a great »revival«. Everybody made them. Of course, banana bread is around for much longer. When everyone suddenly had overripe bananas and a lot of time at hand (because they were stuck at home) banana bread was the »hot s***t« to bake ;P Today I got a slightly modified »banana bread« you could say. In the shape of a bundt cake. Bananas and peanut butter combined. Something you can bake any time of the year ;)
There is actually not that much to tell about this cake here. The name says it all I guess: Lemon & Orange Olive Oil Cake. Thank you, and goodbye! ;P Well… there is probably a bit more to tell. About the awesome flavors and the great texture of the cake… the simplicity. Grab a slice and you will see what I mean ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
