For those watching “GNTM” – Heidi Klum would say now “Heute habe ich leider kein Foto für dich!” (I have no picture for you today) ;) Yes weird… the idea behind this is just: I have no typical recipe for you today – no cake no cupcakes, but a basic recipe everybody should know about…
Everybody should have a good chocolate frosting recipe. Everybody. Even those who do not bake :P
Just kidding – but it is always good to have a good recipe for your basics – an easy cake recipe, a great swiss meringue buttercream, a cream cheese frosting etc. – and of course a good chocolate buttercream. You should be able to do it in your sleep :)
There is so much you can do with puff pastry dough aka. pâte feuilletée – sweet or savory doesn’t matter. Small pastries with fruits or berries, something hearty with ham and cheese, tarts, and so much more. Saying that – only very few people will make puff pastry dough themselves on a regular basis. Preparing Homemade Puff Pastry at home is not very complicated, it’s just a bit time-consuming. ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
