Fall is the perfect time for some hearty dishes. Something to warm you up and keep you warm for some time. In the area where I am coming from in the south of Germany, we have a lot of these dishes and I am loving each and every one of them since I am a kid. One quite popular stew is called “Saure Linsen mit Spätzle und Wienerle” aka. Sour Lentil Stew with Spätzle and Sausages. Really good. It’s one of my favorite dishes my grandma loved to make ;)
There are some dishes that are soooo good that everyone should have them in their cooking repertoire. For people who like to eat meat, for example, this is Slow Braised Beef Ragout with Pasta is a dish you should know how to make. It takes some time to prepare (that’s why it’s called slow-braised), but worth every minute you invest ;) We might not eat as much meat as we did in the past, but whenever we want something meaty – this is almost always the first dish we can think of to do ;P
We are big fans of Asian cuisine here. I say Asian cuisine because we love a lot of dishes from that area, not only from one specific country. This corner of the world has soo many delicious dishes ;) Today I got a pasta dish for your that is a bit of a mix of Chinese and Japanese – at least the way we do it. So how about some delicious Spicy Pork Udon Noodles? An explosion of flavors that is really easy to prepare!
You’re looking for some quick and easy snacks for the next game night or when you have guests over for a glass of wine? How about some simple Spinach & Feta Rolls? They are ready in no time and very easy to prepare. Skip the mini pizzas from the freezer – they are boring anyway. If you serve these little savory rolls, everybody will think you put in a lot of effort… but no. Nobody will know how easy they are to make ;P
Today’s recipe is going to be a bit fishy… well, or let’s say there is fish involved. That probably sounds better ;) Today I got some delicious Salmon Skewers with Peanut Sauce and Vietnamese Noodle Salad. Does not happen too often here on the blog that you’re getting served something like that… even though I really like to eat fish ;) Maybe I should do more recipes with fish. I’m sure there are enough people out there who like some seafood recipes…. ;)
Even though summer takes little breaks here and there – summertime is tomato season! If you planted some tomato plants on your balcony or in your own garden, you were probably able to harvest some tomatoes already. Our tomato plants have served us several tomatoes already in the past two weeks. Some of them ended up in this delicious Ombre Tomato Tart with Gorgonzola and Mascarpone. One of my favorite quick and easy treats in summer! ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
