It’s time for another banana bread. Haven’t made one in a long time. At least two weeks ;) Today I got a delicious specimen with honey, oats, and pecans. This one is considered to be slightly “healthier” than other banana bread recipes I got here on the blog. No refined sugar and wholemeal spelt flour instead of regular a/p flour. Don’t worry… it still tastes good and not “healthy” ;P
I haven’t made cookies for the blog for quite some time now. I think we should change that right now. Well, guess what… I got a fresh batch of good-looking cookies today ;) Delicious Oatmeal Maple Pecan Cookies fresh from the oven. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. As if it was “Cookie Friday” once again. Feel free to grab one ;)
Carrot cake is one of the most popular cakes here in our house. Not only because they are easy to prepare and always look good – the combination of the carrots, spices, and nuts in the cake is just super delicious! If you go for a “classic” American carrot cake you also need a cream cheese frosting on top (and maybe in between layers). Without that, it’s not a perfect carrot cake. Well… you could say this carrot cake is not perfect, because no real cream cheese is used here, but to be honest… you will not notice the difference ;P
Last Call! If you still need a small gift for Christmas, you’re already a bit late. Fortunately, however, there is something that is ready in no time and can be beautifully wrapped as a gift for friends and family: XMAS Chocolate Bark aka. Salted Caramel Chocolate Bark with Pecans. This sweet snack is ready in no time and can be a small gift along with some wine or the main gift if you haven’t been able to go shopping for something else ;P I would be definitely happy about a jar full of it…
November is almost over – time for a new “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte. This month we’ve picked a theme for your bakes I personally like very much: maple syrup. An ingredient with great flavors that are perfect for fall. So get some nuts ready, chop them nicely, puree the pumpkin and get the maple syrup out of the fridge for this delicious Pumpkin Pecan Streusel Bread with Maple Butter. The sooner you get everything ready, the sooner you can enjoy the first slice ;)
October is almost over. It’s time for a new “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise”! Many of you probably expect something for Halloween today but unfortunately, I do not have anything bloody for you today. Sorry! Just a delicious Apple Pecan & Cranberry Streusel Cake. Nothin’ overly fancy. If you want it to be Halloween-themed you could pour some red fruit sauce on top and stick a few knives into it… but the cake is actually fine as it is here :P
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
