For a long time, I was reluctant to bake a delicious tart like this one here. I was always a bit afraid of making something like this Pear Tarte Tatin or other tarts of this category. Super tasty, extremely decorative, but also made with caramel… which can be tricky sometimes. I was really a bit nervous when making a Tarte Tatin for the first time. But once you’ve baked your first one, it’s all not that bad. The preparation is actually quite simple ;P
September is almost over. This means it’s time for another “Bake Together – The Baking Surprise” with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte – our monthly baking event. It seems like the last one was only days ago ;) Well… today we are baking something with apples and pears – the title “Apple & Pear Strudel with Filo Dough” probably gave it away already ;P
It’s the time of the month… the last Sunday of the month is “Bake Together” day! If you drop by on a regular basis you probably know that already ;) Once a month I team up with Andrea from Zimtkeks & Apfeltarte for a little baking session. Unfortunately, we are living far from each other, so baking together does not mean physically but baking together based on one topic we choose… this month it’s all about pears! Guess you noticed that already cause I got a really nice Chocolate Pear Cake for you today! ;))
In Germany, the season for apples and pears has started already. Two thumbs up for that! Unfortunately, this means no more berries from places nearby. No more fresh berries with your bowl of muesli in the morning or for snacking all day long… well, a nice chocolate cake with a good amount of pears is also very nice in the morning, afternoon and evening ;P

I haven’t baked a lot with pears so far – dunno even why, because I like pears a lot. Can you just replace apples in an apple cake with pears? Guess not because of the acid of the apple…. weeeeeeird thoughts in the morning. Another coffee! READ MORE
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
