I guess here in Germany, not everyone is familiar with Sloppy Joes. To be honest, I haven’t seen any restaurant or street food truck, yet that sells them here… and here in Berlin you can get basically every dish from all over the world. ;P Americans probably all know about these sandwiches. They created Sloppy Joes and basically every other weird burger/sandwich out there. ;P
It’s time for some delicious burgers. Not from the delivery service. Something homemade and super easy to prepare. Sounds good, right? By the way, there is no need to use meat for a good burger. These Halloumi Veggie Burgers are as delicious as their meaty friends… probably just a bit healthier because of the veggies used to make them ;P
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! One of my favorite sayings when it comes to food. Doesn’t make any sense at all, but sounds kind of funny ;) I don’t really remember where I heard it for the first time… I think it was Trixie Mattel. She likes to say things like that. Well. I don’t know if these (Southern Style) Buttermilk Chicken Sandwiches count as a complete “dinner” – probably not – but they are definitely a tasty bite whenever you are hungry for chickin ;)
Today is not a day for cakes or cupcakes. Today is a day for burgers! It’s National Burger Day and because of that, I made some burgers! D’oh!! I am not kidding. If you expected a new sweet recipe you have to wait a couple more days. The only thing you will get here today are delicious Halloumi Veggie Burgers with Brava Sauce! Well and some chips on the side if you want ;)
There are so many things that can be celebrated… not talking about the days the church or the state decided to give you a day off. Nowadays almost every day is a day of celebration. A lot of foods have their day once a year. For example the Day of German Beer, World Bread Day, Pancake Day, a day dedicated to hummus, carrots, apples and much more. Americans are the most creative when it comes to such celebrations. If you take a look at “Foodie Calendars” online, you will see that most of those days have been created and are celebrated in the U.S. I don’t think all of those days are really necessary, but some days I really like ;)
There will be nothing sweet on here today! It’s summertime and the soccer World Cup just started. Let’s heat up the BBQ and get some burgers and meat on the grill. In case you want to throw a little soccer viewing party at home, I got the right snack for you: Roast Beef Sliders glazed with a Dark Beer Syrup and a lot of melted cheeeeese… sounds good, right?! ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
