They may not be a standard for breakfast, but in my opinion, popovers are perfect for breakfast or brunch. Especially if there is a larger group at the table. These Easy Biscoff Popovers are the perfect sweet treat in between or the perfect end to a brunch. Easy to prepare and quick to decorate. Never work more than absolutely necessary in the kitchen ;P
Not everyone has a lot of time for baking. I bake and take pictures of my bakes for a living but I can also appreciate when I only have to spend a short time in the kitchen to get something sweet. These Easy Peasy Almond Croissants are definitely something you can whip up in no time. If you got some softened butter already you only need 5 minutes to get the croissants into the oven. Then you have to wait for the oven to finish and you got yourself a delicious snack. So easy!
When you talk about »Buchteln« here in Berlin, you often get strange looks. It’s just not a common name for this type of bake here – it’s more frequently used in the south of Germany. In English, you would probably call these Apple Pie Buchteln something like Apple Pie Sweet Rolls with Streusels, I assume. Whatever you want to call them – these fluffy rolls are super delicious and quite easy to prepare (if you like to work with yeast dough) ;)
I am a big fan of scones. Served with some jam and clotted cream a real treat. Unfortunately, clotted cream is extremely rare to find here in Germany. That’s why I love scones that don’t need cream, jam, or anything else added. Scones that are good to eat as they are ;) Delicious little fellas like these Chocolate Walnut Scones. You can have a coffee on the side, of course, but nothing else is needed. A perfect snack/dessert you can take anywhere ;)
I have to admit that there are already quite a few banana bread recipes available here on the blog. But can you ever have enough banana bread recipes?! I don’t think so! There is always something new to test and try. This easy recipe for a Vegan Walnut & Chocolate Banana Bread, for example. It’s obviously made without any dairy products but also without any added (white) sugar. Not created to be healthy but to be very delicious. Being vegan and sugar-free is just a bonus ;P
The moment the first warm rays of sunshine hit Berlin at the beginning of summer you know it’s time for rhubarb to make a comeback ;) The red-green stalks pop up everywhere – waiting for you to do something with them. The first thing that might come up, in that case, is baking a cake with rhubarb. Obvious. But how about making some Homemade Rhubarb Curd and doing something with that to celebrate rhubarb season? Something like these delicious Popovers with Rhubarb Curd and Strawberries? Super easy to make and really tasty. Something your guests will reach out and grab several times ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
