Small but mighty – that’s what my grandma used to say to me. I don’t know what she meant by that, because I was neither small nor mighty. Maybe a bit overweight ;P Well… this saying might apply to these delicious Chocolate Chip Spelt Cookies with Mini M&M’s. Small cookies, big impact. Anyone who’s able grab one of these little cookies will certainly be able to confirm this…
There are many food trends and specialties that sound interesting at first, but when you try them… oh boy. I’m thinking about butter boards, for example. They look nice, but somehow it’s also absolute rubbish (sorry) ;P With Deep-fried Pickles, I also thought at first »Sounds interesting, but they could be horrible«. That’s why I put them off for a long time. But what can I say!? Delicious! They might not be right for everyone, but we really like them! ;)
Cookies come in all imaginable sizes, shapes, and flavors. Not every cookie is immediately recognizable as a cookie though ;) I guess not everyone will see immediately that these Toffifay Chocolate Chip Cookie Cups are cookies… or at least cookie-related. The moment you bite into them, you know. The delicious cookie dough gives it away ;P
Anyone who has ever been to Sicily (or Italy in general, I guess) will probably know these oversized rice balls. Similar rice balls like these Arancini with Pesto Rosso & Mozzarella can be found on (almost) every corner in Sicily – served as a snack. A very big snack ;) We love these balls (hehe), although they don’t really qualify as a snack for us. As substantial as they are, they count as a full meal for us ;P
Easter is the time for baking – at least here in our house. The long weekend is perfect for bigger baking projects. We love to do everything from cakes to bread and smaller snacks like cookies. A sweet braided loaf or brioche is a staple here for Easter, so are cookies. When friends or family is coming over you can also expect a cake ;P This year, I’ll definitely be baking these delicious Easter Bunny Chocolate Chip Cookies again. A very cute sweet snack but also great to decorate the Easter table or buffet. Kids love them ;)
Quarkbällchen aka. Quark balls are a sweet snack you can find at pretty much every German Christmas market (or similar events). These small deep-fried dough balls are very popular with young and old alike. No wonder – pretty much everything you deep-fry and roll in sugar afterward tastes delicious. It’s not my fault. It’s a fact ;P If you want to make Simple Quarkbällchen at home, just like the ones from the markets, you don’t need a big deep fryer. A simple small pot/saucepan will do the job just as well…
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
