Summer is still far away but that does not mean we cannot eat some ice cream here and there, right?! I own an ice cream maker for some time now – which means it’s quite obvious that we always have some ice cream in our freezer… and constantly eat ice cream. No matter how the weather is outside ;) Today I made some delicious Matcha Ice Cream – really good! Maybe not a flavor for everybody but definitely a favorite in our house since the first time I made it ;)
Like ice in the sunshine, I’m melting awaaaaay… this song comes to my mind as soon as I see ads for ice cream somewhere – especially in the movies when they show that screen with the ice cream selection of the movie theater. The advertising industry did well with that, when they started using this song for ice cream ads back when I was a kid. Burned (or frozen?) into my mind forever ;) Well, I did not want to talk about music but homemade Chocolate Coconut Ice Cream – perfect if you want to cool down a bit this summer…
Hot, hotter, the hottest… summer finally arrived and is giving us all! Sun, high temperatures but also some cooler days in between with thunderstorms. Yay! Well, not so much the thunderstorms since we are on the top floor with windows in the ceiling… really annoying when there is a lot of rain coming down ;) Anyway. I did not want to talk about rain – it’s all about ice cream today! Delicious homemade strawberry ice cream – my new favorite treat when it’s hot!
It has been quite warm already the last several days. It seems summer finally arrived. Unfortunately, this also means hot nights in our apartment! We live directly under the roof and that feels like a sauna sometimes when the day was hot. Well… I guess I have to eat more of these Watermelon Kiwi Popsicles to cool down and compensate. :P
We already had our first little “heat wave” this year. By heat wave I mean one weekend with more than 20°C and no rain ;) Summer is coming pretty late this year it seems. But who cares? We can still have some ice even if there is no sun or heat. How about some Green Beast Popsicles? They are really delicious and quite special ;)
Looking at the temperatures in my kitchen right now there is no way I am heating up the oven! Let’s make a fridge cake or even better an ice cream cake! That’s much better when it’s hot outside. The one I made here is also perfect if you are looking for a birthday cake in summer… ;)
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
