Do you know “Hocus Pocus”? The movie from the 90s? It’s one of my favorite movies of all time. Bette Midler was just terrific as Winifred Sanderson ;) Finally, after almost 30 years of waiting a second movie with the Sanderson sisters will be released soon. To celebrate this special day I made some delicious Hocus Pocus (Spell Book) Brownies. Delicious fudgy brownies packed with chocolate and walnuts and a special “look & feel” ;)
Alright… Halloween is almost here. What a surprise – I got another bake that would be great for your Halloween party… in case you wanted to serve something delicious and creepy. Cute little Halloween “Brainy” Skull Sugar Cookies. Just wipe off some of the blood and they are good to eat ;P
Halloween is coming up soon and, of course, I could not resist baking a little sweet treat for this special day. Not because I’m going to celebrate with a party. My Halloween bakes are just for fun. Because I like to bake something spooky from time to time. If you’ve been here on the blog in previous years around Halloween, you have probably seen some of these bakes already. Today I got some delicious and only slightly creepy cupcakes for you. Delicious Audrey II Cupcakes from the musical „Litte Shop of Horrors“ – some of you probably heard of it ;)
Halloween is not Halloween if there is nothing (slightly) creepy on the table to eat. Halloween without anything remotely creepy is out of the question for us. We don’t dress up nor go to Halloween parties – but baking with blood, skulls, and bugs is so much fun and a must-do each year. So how about some Spider Chocolate Chip Cookies? They’re not really creepy, but still spooky enough I think. At least for some people out there ;)
Today’s recipe will be a bit spooky. Well, not really spooky spooky… let’s say it’s different from other recipes ;) Instead of simple chocolate cookies, I got super chocolaty Halloween Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Monster Cookies. That’s quite a mouth full, I know ;) They may look a bit unusual for a “normal” day of the year, but for Halloween… perfect. You would not judge them by their appearance, anyway – it’s the inside that counts.
Happy Halloween, Happy Bake Together! Well… the scariest holiday of the year is still some days away, but if you want to make something special you have to prepare a bit in advance. This Halloween Spider Web Pumpkin Chocolate Cake needs some time and attention, so starting a bit early is actually necessary if you won’t want to be in a rush on Halloween. Timing is bloody everything! ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
