There is one dish from Italian cuisine that always ends up on our table – over and over again: a simple Classic Lasagna Bolognese. We also like spaghetti and other types of pasta from time to time, but if someone here is allowed to ask for something specific for dinner, the choice is always lasagna. With lots of cheese. An outrageous amount of cheese ;P
We love simple pasta dishes – especially the ones made in a casserole dish ;) You can find those dishes in pretty much every international cuisine. Of course, not always prepared the same way ;) In Greece, for example, they have this absolutely awesome Greek Pasta Bake aka. Pastitsio which not only looks great but also tastes excellent. It might look like a lot of work, but honestly, it’s not that complicated ;)
When you don’t feel like cooking, something made in a casserole dish is always something you can still whip up with minimal effort ;) You throw everything into the casserole dish, add a good amount of cheese on top and then let the oven do all the work. If you want to serve a Creamy Tortellini & Chicken Gratin like this one, you’ll have to do a few more steps when preparing it, but it’s not that much tbh. Actually, still very easy to do ;P
I might or might not have mentioned it before – I am a big fan of »everything meatballs«. No matter if it’s actual meat or a plant-based alternative ;) I like them as a snack during the day or when used in a recipe like this one here. These Italian Baked Meatballs (with Rice) are extremely delicious and super easy to prepare. The perfect dish if you don’t want to invest a lot of time in the evening… which is pretty much every day of the week for me ;P
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
