Happy “Swedish Cinnamon Rolls Day”! Yes – these sweet little rolls have their own holiday to celebrate their greatness ;) With all these foodie holidays, I’m starting to wonder why I don’t have my own holiday yet (aside from my birthday) :P Well. I’m not really complaining – today is the day of the good old Swedishthe cinnamon rolls and, of course, we celebrate that! With delicious Vegan Apple Pecan Cinnamon Rolls aka. Kanelbullar or Kanelknuter.
It might be a good time to start thinking about Easter and what to bake for that holiday. Easter is not only “around the corner” it basically blocks the isles in the supermarkets everywhere with chocolate Easter bunnies and Easter eggs for weeks already. What are you going to bake? Are you baking? I mean… we are still in lockdown, so there should be enough time to do some baking ;) We are definitely making this delicious Carrot Cake Cheesecake this year. It’s the perfect cake for Easter… really.
Sweet potatoes made it to Germany quite some time ago – there’s hardly a burger place that does not offer sweet potato fries these days. I like them a lot and most of the time I prefer them over regular french fries… if deep-fried properly ;) However, I have the feeling that sweet potatoes did not make it much further – sweet desserts and bakes with sweet potatoes are still not common here. Americans do much more with these veggies. This classic Sweet Potato Pie is a good example of that – sweet and very delicious.
I don’t want to be the one telling you “I told you so…” – a new lockdown has just recently been announced for Germany… the social distancing rules getting more strict, some people started hoarding toilet paper again… let’s hope that flour and yeast are not disappearing this time or I will go crazy for sure ;P Well… just in case you need to stay home and want to bake again – I got a new recipe with bananas for you. Banana bread was very popular the first time, why not try something new? How about some Banana Bread Scones? Equally delicious and easy to prepare ;)
Happy Cookie Friday Folks! I got a fresh batch of cookies for you! You might think „Another chocolate chip recipe? Really?“ Well… these are in fact chocolate chip cookies, but not the regular ones you might get in a bakery or coffee shop. Mine here are better than the regular ones ;) They are made with some additional pecans – which alone would make them already delicious – but the even better addition is miso paste… say what? Miso Chocolate Chip Cookies in da house! ;P
Happy Cookie Friday! Today I got super chocolaty cookies for you! Vegan Avocado Chocolate Cookies – packed with chocolate flavor… so much that I recommend a glass of milk to enjoy these little fellas. Some people are just not made for that much chocolate in one single cookie ;P Just kidding… but still – keep the milk close by!
Hi, my name is Marc. I'm a graphic designer.
I love my job, but in between I love to bake and try new things in the kitchen. A lot of my friends and colleagues encourage me to bake - for a very simple reason: they get the leftovers - and it seems they like it most of the time ;)
