The name of this website probably lets you think it’s all about baking – but no. Now and then I will publish cooking recipes. Delicious meals I like to prepare at home and wanted to share with you. One of my favorite dishes for Christmas is definitely this: Ossobuco with Gremolata. A delicious dish that is perfect for special occasions… like Christmas ;)
Zürich is one of the best-known and most popular cities in Switzerland. After finishing university I was thinking about moving to the beautiful city at Lake Zurich – not far from where I actually grew up. I was torn between the lovely (and expensive) Swiss city and Berlin where I live now… I guess you can figure out how the story ended ;P Nonetheless, I still have “roots” in Switzerland and we love to make one of the most popular Swiss dishes here at home – Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with Rösti. It’s so good!

If you like tacos I am pretty sure you will love these Taco Bowls. They are practically everything that makes a delicious taco, just in a different form. Some would say “deconstructed”. I just say delicious! Although the recipe looks quite extensive, all very easy to prepare. What more could you want for dinner? Maybe a beer to go with it and possibly some company. The bowl is a bit too much for just one person ;P
It’s still not very nice outside. Spring in Berlin can be quite nasty, to be honest. Very cold, wet and windy. I really don’t like this time of year here in the city. You don’t want to spend more time inside after a cold and wet winter but going outside is still not an option if you want to stay warm and dry ;) Well… times like that demand hearty and delicious dishes – like this Farmer’s Stew with Minced Meat and Potatoes, for example. This dish will keep you warm and makes you forget the misery outside ;P

I guess everyone knows them – the packaged mixes for pasta, casserole dishes, etc. you can find in basically every supermarket all over the world. The package normally contains spices, (artificial) flavors, and stuff like that and you add pasta, meat, veggies, or whatever to create a dish. These packages are quite popular because they promise great flavors and a dish that is ready in no time. Well… I think there is no need for stuff like that. Most of the time you can create the same dish with ingredients and spices you already have at home. This Cabbage Stew with Minced Meat & Potatoes is a good example here. So easy to prepare and very delicious ;)

Whenever we have some more time to cook, mostly on the weekend, we love to take one of our old family recipes and spend some time in the kitchen. During the week we prefer quick and easy recipes, but on a Saturday or Sunday you can prepare something like these Classic German Roulades (Rinderrouladen) with Fried Potatoes. One of my favorite recipes of all time my mom used to make ;)
