Description

Homemade and delicious Italian Sandwiches – the perfect lunch.

Ingredients

Scale

2 sandwich buns (hoagie rolls)
24 lettuce leaves
1 large tomato
1/2 bell pepper (red or green), in strips
23 black olives, sliced
8 slices of salami
6 slices of smoked turkey
4 slices of cooked ham
4 slices of mozzarella
sauce to taste (e.g. mayonnaise or pesto)

Instructions

1. Wash, dry, and thinly slice the tomato. Wash and dry the peppers, remove the seeds and cut them into thin strips. Slice the olives as well.

2. Cut the sandwich buns lengthwise in half and toast to your liking or roast briefly in a skillet pan. Spread mayo or pesto on both sides, then top with lettuce, tomato slices, bell pepper strips, and sliced olives. Place sliced salami, turkey, ham, and mozzarella on the bun and fold the buns together.

3. If you like melted cheese, you could also toast the sandwich several minutes in the oven (if you have a grill option). In that case you should change the order for the veggies and cold cuts – cold cuts and cheese first, then toasting it and finally finish it with the veggies.

Notes

Enjoy toasting!
