Description

A simple and easy snack many love: Pigs in a blanket. So good and always a crowd pleaser in our house. We love them :)

Ingredients

Scale

For the rolls:
1 roll of puff pastry dough (cooled)
45 hot dog sausages (Frankfurter or Wiener)

For the topping:
1 tsp. black sesame seeds
1 tsp. sesame seeds
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
salt, pepper

1 egg yolk + some water

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with baking parchment and set aside.

2. Unroll the puff pastry dough and cut it into pieces large enough to completely enclose the wieners. Wrap the sausages with the puff pastry and cut them into pieces of about 2 inches in length. Place them seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.

3. For the topping, mix the sesame seeds with the onion and garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix the egg yolk with a little water. Brush the rolls with the egg yolk and sprinkle with the sesame mixture. Bake the “pigs in a blanket” for about 25 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve while still warm with a dip of your choice. Ketchup, mustard, or Brava Sauce are great here.

Enjoy baking!
