Description

If you are in need of a small gift, you might want to try making some easy homemade chocolate truffles. Easy-to-prepare and always a lovely gift for anyone!

Ingredients

Scale

For the truffles:
10.6 oz. (300g) Ritter Sport Amicelli
4.2 oz. (120g) heavy cream

For the coating:
some (unsweetened) cocoa powder
some chopped (roasted) hazelnuts or other nuts
some chopped freeze-dried strawberries or raspberries
some chocolate sprinkles

Instructions

1. Chop the chocolate and add it together with the heavy cream to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat up slowly in the microwave until the chocolate has melted, and you got a nice and smooth chocolate sauce. Cover the bowl and let the chocolate cool down, then place it in the fridge overnight.

2. Use a small cookie scoop* or a spoon to get small portions of chocolate mixture out of the bowl and shape them into small balls – this can get a bit messy. Roll the balls in cocoa powder, chopped nuts, or whatever you chose as a coating. Keep the coated chocolate truffles in the fridge (for up to 2 weeks).

Notes

+ make sure the chocolate mixture is well cooled before you shape and coat the truffles – the warmer they get, the messier it might get
+ you can use many types of (roasted) nuts, sprinkles, etc. to coat the truffles – make sure everything is finely chopped, so it sticks better to the chocolate
