Description

The perfect snack you can make in an Air Fryer: Tarte Flambée Bread Rolls. Easy to do and really delicious! An absolute family favorite!

Ingredients

Scale

4 bread rolls
3.5 oz. (100g) sour cream
1.8 oz. (50g) crème fraîche (or more sour cream)
1.8 oz. (50g) cheese (e.g. Gouda or Emmental), grated
1.8 oz. (50g) diced ham
2 small red onions, in rings
salt, pepper

some chopped chives for decorations (optional)

Instructions

1. Mix the sour cream with crème fraîche, stir in the grated cheese and season with salt and pepper. Peel the onions and cut them into thin rings.

2. Cut the bread rolls in half and flatten them slightly. Spread the cream and cheese mixture evenly on top, sprinkle with diced ham and onion rings, and season with some additional salt and pepper.

3. Preheat the Air Fryer (if necessary) to 170°C (340°F). Place the bread in the Air Fryer basket and bake for about 7-8 minutes. The baking time may vary depending on the appliance you are using, so it is best to check occasionally to make sure nothing burns. The Tarte Flambée bread rolls are ready when the diced ham looks crispy, and you can see some browning on top of the cream and cheese mixture. Decorate the bread rolls with some chopped chives to your liking (optional).

Notes

If you don’t have an Air Fryer, you can also bake the bread rolls in the oven, of course. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the rolls for about 10-12 minutes. Again, check them occasionally to make sure they don’t get too dark.
