some olive oil

For the cheese melts:
2 tbsp. sour cream
1 tbsp. crème fraîche
1/2 tsp. mustard
0.7 oz. (20g) cubed smoked bacon
about 3.5 oz. (100g) grated cheese (e.g. gouda), divided
salt, pepper
2 slices of artisan bread

a few cherry tomatoes, quartered (optional)
some flat-leaf parsley, chopped (optional)
some olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

1. Cut the BÜRGER Maultaschen into slices at a slight angle. Place them in the basked of an Air Fryer and drizzle or spray the pieces with a little olive oil. Roast the maultaschen at a temperature of 190°C (375°F) for about 5 minutes.

2. While the BÜRGER Maultaschen are in the Air Fryer, prepare the topping. Mix sour cream with crème fraîche and mustard. Add the diced bacon and about half of the grated cheese and mix in. Season with salt and pepper. Spread the mixture evenly on the two slices of bread.

3. Remove the slices from the Air Fryer and set them aside. Place the bread with in the Air Fryer basket and bake it for about 5 minutes at 190°C (375°F). When the time is up, place the roasted slices on top of the sandwiches and add the remaining cheese as well. Bake/roast the bread for another 5 minutes at the same temperature.

4. If you like, you can top/decorate the cheese melts with cherry tomatoes and some chopped parsley and drizzle with a little olive oil before serving. The cheese melts go well with a small green salad.

Notes
