Description

Delicious and super-rich Vegan Brownies – packed with chocolate and flavors. It could not get better, right?! ;P

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup (200g) sugar
1/2 cup (120ml) water
1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
3 oz. (90g) apple sauce
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups (200g) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (90g) cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3.5 oz. (100g) semi-sweet chocolate (vegan), chopped

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8×8 inches (20x20cm) square baking tin with baking parchment and set aside. Chop the chocolate and set aside.

2. Add the sugar and water to a saucepan and heat up gently – stir until the sugar has dissolved completely. Remove from the heat and mix in the oil, apple sauce, and vanilla extract. Set aside.

3. In a large bowl mix the flour with cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Add the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Add the chopped chocolate and fold in. Transfer the batter to the prepared baking tin and smooth out the top. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until a wooden skewer inserted into the brownie comes out clean. Take out of the oven and let cool down completely. Lift the cooled brownie out of the tin with the baking parchment and cut into 12 or 16 pieces. Enjoy!

Notes

Enjoy baking!
