Description

Delicious and easy to prepare donuts. No frying fat needed cause they are baked! Fun for kids and grownups as well ;)

Ingredients

For the batter:
1 large egg
1/2 cup (100g) sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. melted butter
1/2 cup (120ml) milk
1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. rainbow sprinkles
For the glaze:
3/4 cup (100g) confectioners’ sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
2-3 tbsp. heavy cream
pink food color (optional)
rainbow sprinkles for the decoration

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan and set aside.

2. In a large bowl mix the egg with sugar until light and fluffy. Add the melted (and cooled) butter and milk and mix in. Mix the flour with baking powder, and salt and add to the bowl. Mix until just combined. Add the rainbow sprinkles and fold in – try to work quick and mix gently, or the sprinkles lose all of the colors. Transfer the batter to donut pan and fill the rings almost full, leaving the center free. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Take out of the oven and let cool down a bit in the pan, then remove and let cool down completely on a wire rack.

3. For the glaze mix the confectioners’ sugar with vanilla extract and heavy cream until smooth (add some food color if you like and mix in). Glaze the donuts and sprinkle with rainbow sprinkles. Let dry.

Notes

Enjoy baking!
