Description

Delicious and easy to prepare chocolate donuts with cream cheese frosting and oreo decorations. Nom Nom Nom… ;)

Ingredients

Scale

For the chocolate batter

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup (100g) brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tbsp. (40g) melted butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 cup (130g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 cup (30g) cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

For the frosting

  • 3.5 oz. (100g) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. (30g) butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (100g) confectioners’ sugar
  • 12 tbsp. heavy cream (optional)
  • 45 Oreo cookies, crumbled

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a donut pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl mix the egg with sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk until well combined. Mix the flour with baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt and add to the bowl – mix until just combined. Do not overmix! Fill the batter into the prepared donut pan and bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Take out of the oven, let cool down for a moment, then remove from the pan and let cool down completely on a wire rack.
  3. For the frosting add the cream cheese and butter to a large bowl and mix until well combined. Add the vanilla extract and mix in. Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar and mix in until well combined. Spread the frosting on top of the cooled donuts and sprinkle with the crumbled Oreo cookies. Serve with a glass of milk ;)
